Grading Policies

In the 3 major units of this course, you will analyze and create visual, audio, and multimodal texts. These texts will be centered around a “public issue” focal topic of your choosing. We will work together to determine the best focal topic for you, but, basically, the goal for each project is to produce a rhetorically effective artifact that will raise awareness and persuade people to take actions to engage with your focal topic.

Composing (in any medium) is a process, and I value the time, effort, and energy that goes into any project, and roughly half of your total grade will reflect your commitment to the composing process; the other half will rest on an evaluation of your final product.  For each major project, you will also compose a substantial reflection (3-5 pages) that explains your process and analyzes your own rhetorical choices.

If you have questions about your grade at any point in the semester, please be sure to let me know right away!
